Saturday night, I dreamt I was awaiting execution and didn't know the charges. I was bewildered. Never believe that dreams are random.
Here we are, Saturday morning, still at home, in a photo taken by my husband.
My older dog, Tug, had been failing. Last week, he went into a steep decline. Saturday morning, we took him to the vet, and had him put to sleep. Yes, it is a euphemism. And, yet, it did seem as if he had fallen asleep. We cried. But, also, I feel at peace. By Friday, he could no longer stand up. And, he no longer wagged his tail. Not even for the tastiest, yummiest treat. He was in pain. It was time. To see the pain leave his body was a great relief to me. After the injection, his heart took less than a minute to stop. We chose cremation. I will buy a pot, I will mix the ashes with soil, and I will plant flowers.

I have published a book on http://blurb.com, titled Objects Found. This book is a collection of digital photographs of objects found on walks. I use the word "object" loosely, as I include structures, flora, fauna. Included with the photographs are my thoughts, musings, conclusions regarding these "objects". I do not claim to be a photographer. Rather, I am an artist who takes photographs. The book is available for order, and the site allows the viewer to preview the first 15 pages. Please drop by the website. I would love to know your thoughts.

It immediately brought to mind the Crown of Thorns, worn by Jesus at the Crucifixion. An earlier book, titled The Calligraphy of Lifedrawing, is also available. I do intend to add more to that book soon. Feel free to take a look at it as well. http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/476137 A third book is a memorial done for a dear friend, and is an invitation only book for the family. |
