Brittany

A one-minute portrait of Brittany.    I see in my quick, dashed-off sketch both a vitality and an elegance.  An economy of line.  Of the three drawings I show here, it is my favorite.

Then, a five-minute portrait.  I still see freshness, some verve.  I had time to put in some quick shading.  

Here, I also used charcoal on printer paper, and used my eraser to bring out highlights.

And, the thirty minute drawing.  My least favorite.  Is it awful?  As the artist, I am not the best judge.  But, how can I learn to preserve freshness, vitality, economy of line in a more "finished" work?  I have got to learn not to use the extra time on trying to make it "perfect."  Perfect just ain't gonna happen.  Not in this world.
